NANTUCKET, Mass. (AP) — A plane with six people aboard lost contact during a flight from Bermuda to Boston, and the U.S. Coast Guard said it was searching Saturday for the missing aircraft off the coast of Nantucket.

The jet, registered to Hamilton-based Latitude Air Ambulance, had four crew members and two passengers aboard when it departed Bermuda’s L.F. Wade International Airport overnight for the flight to Massachusetts, according to a statement from the Bermuda airport’s operator, Skyport.

According to Latitude’s website, a registered nurse and a registered respiratory therapist and possibly a physician is usually part of a typical flight.

According to the website Flightradar24, the jet flew from Hamilton, Ont., to Bermuda on Friday evening. It then departed from Bermuda for a nearly two-hour, late-night flight to Boston Logan International Airport just after 12:30 a.m. Saturday.

The Coast Guard said the search for the jet included crews in the air and on the water.

Ontario’s air ambulance service provider Ornge reacted to the news of the missing plane Saturday, writing in a social media post that it hopes “the aircraft and all passengers are located safely and quickly.”
