TORONTO – Denison Mines Corp. says the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation has formally provided its consent to and support for the development of the company’s Wheeler River uranium project in northern Saskatchewan.
The project includes the Phoenix and Gryphon uranium deposits.
The company says the Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation has withdrawn its judicial review application related to the environmental assessment approval granted by Saskatchewan for the Phoenix in-situ recovery uranium mine.
Site preparation and early works construction for the Phoenix operation started in March this year.
First production targeted for 2028.
Wheeler River is a joint venture between Denison, which is the operator and holds a 90 per cent stake, and JCU (Canada) Exploration Co. Ltd., which holds 10 per cent.
