The third event in the Star’s Theatre Club series will be the world premiere of “Medusa”, at Soulpepper Theatre. This innovative reimagining of one of Greek mythology’s most feared figures, a play by Governor-General’s Award winner Erin Shields, takes audiences into Medusa’s thoughts in an immersive headset experience.
Before arriving at the theatre participants will receive an email from The Star’s senior art critic, Joshua Chong, that will include some background on Shields, the mythology she’s working from, and what to look for in this production.
On July 8 at 1:30 p.m., guests will join a group of like-minded theatregoers to enjoy the play. Theatre Club attendees will have an exclusive opportunity to take part in a conversation with the theatre artists and participate in a backstage tour.
After the show, Theatre Club guests will walk across the cobblestones of the Distillery District for a three-course meal at Cluny Bistro & Boulangerie. Over drinks and dinner, Chong will lead you in conversation, digging into the play’s themes, the performances and production.
It’s a rare opportunity to take “dinner and a show” to the next level. Due to the intimate nature of the event, tickets are limited.
