A 44-year-old Ottawa man faces a list of charges after three Ottawa police officers and two security guards were allegedly assaulted at the 2026 Escapade Music Festival Friday night.
In an email to the Ottawa Citizen Saturday, police said the incident occurred at around 9:45 p.m.
“One officer suffered a concussion, one needed stitches to their hand,” the OPS wrote in their email.
“Two of the officers attended the hospital for injuries,” Ottawa police wrote on their social media platforms Saturday afternoon.
The officers are expected to make a full recovery from their injuries, police said.
The suspect was allegedly intoxicated at the time.
In the email, police said the incident occurred at around 9:45 p.m.
Police did not release the identity of the accused.
He was charged with six charges including assault of a peace officer, assault of peace officer causing bodily harm, resisting arrest, two additional counts of assault, and causing disturbance.
“Officers will continue to take a zero-tolerance approach to disorderly behaviour or criminal activity that can negatively impact residents, visitors and businesses,” police said Saturday.
