MISSISSAUGA – Maple Leaf Foods Inc. says it is consolidating its U.S. plant protein production into a single location in Indianapolis.
The company says the move is part of its multi-year strategy to simplify operations, improve the competitiveness of its manufacturing and strengthen profitability.
As a result, it says it will wind down production at locations in Seattle and Turners Falls, Mass.
The transition is expected to take about 12 to 18 months and is expected to finish in the fourth quarter of 2027.
While the transition period occurs, Maple Leaf says production will continue at its Seattle and Turners Falls plants.
Maple Leaf says the consolidation will create a more efficient manufacturing network and reduce operational complexity.
