Missing teen sought by Ottawa police

On Wednesday, June 24, the Ottawa Police Service asked for public assistance in locating a missing 15-year-old youth.

Baza Araya was last seen in the area of Bank Street and Billings Bridge, a news release said, adding that she regularly used OC Transpo.

The release described Araya as mixed race and standing five feet six inches tall with a thin build, long, dark hair and multiple ear piercings.

She was last seen wearing a grey tracksuit and light-coloured Crocs. She was also carrying a grey Jordan backpack.

Anyone seeing her was asked to call 911 so she could receive immediate assistance.

Information about her whereabouts can be telephoned to the OPS Missing Persons Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 2355. Anonymous tips will be accepted by Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at crimestoppers.ca.
