Montreal home sales fall 13% in August as 'rebalancing' continues: real estate board

MONTREAL – Montreal-area home sales fell 13.1 per cent year-over-year in August as the province’s real estate board says the market is continuing to go through an “adjustment period.”

The Quebec Professional Association of Real Estate Brokers says 2,853 residential properties changed hands throughout the month in the Montreal census metropolitan area, down from 3,282 in August 2025.
