A man in his 20s was transported to the hospital with life-threatening gunshot injuries after being found on Bank Street near Heron Road early Saturday.
Emergency crews found the man at the scene at approximately 4:45 a.m.
“Paramedics can’t comment on the nature of the injuries — it’s a police matter — but from a medical perspective we can say that the injuries were … going through the skin,” Ottawa Paramedic Service operations commander Kevin Montgomery said.
As of Saturday afternoon, police had not announced any arrests in connection with the case.
The Ottawa Police Service ‘s Guns and Gangs Unit and East Investigations Section were investigating, a news release said.
