Police raided an unnamed business on the 2000 block of Bank Street and charged one person on Oct. 15 in an investigation concerning “illegal sale of tobacco products.”
The Ottawa Police Service seized more than 54,000 cigarettes, 4,800 nicotine pouches, 52 vape devices, loose tobacco, cash, cellphones and tablets, according to a police news release.
The OPS charged a 35 year old with selling unstamped and unpackaged tobacco, possessing proceeds of a crime and obstructing a police officer, the release said.
Police are still searching for a 44-year-old man in connection with the investigation.
The OPS said the investigation remained “ongoing.”
