Ottawa is experiencing an unusual start to one of its coldest months.
Environment Canada forecasts unseasonal temperatures this week, kick-starting November with a short-lived warm spell.
The national weather agency says Ottawa residents can enjoy a sunny 21 C weather Wednesday before showers take over the capital again.
Forecasts are predicting a mix of sun and cloud for most of the day with temperatures hovering between 19 C and 20 C until 5 p.m. The weather agency says there will be a few clouds tonight though, with increasing cloudiness near midnight followed by a few showers.
Showers are expected, but not until after midnight, according to the agency.
The national weather agency says fog patches have already dissipated this morning and a moderate UV index of 3.
While temperatures Thursday are still high for November, the weather service says to expect a few showers, which will end near noon, then a mix of sun and cloud with 40 per cent chance of showers afterwards.
Temperatures will begin to drop back to typical trends by the end of the week, starting Sunday Nov. 8, reversing the capital’s unusual warm spell this week.
