Ford has issued a recall for some of its SUVs over concerns that the chrome plating in the centre console could bubble and peel, creating sharp edges.
In total, 16,208 Ford Expeditions from 2018 to 2024 were at the centre of the recall amplified by Transport Canada.
The federal agency said that bubbling or peeling chrome plating could create sharp edges.
“Exposed sharp edges can increase the risk of injury,” Transport Canada said.
Ford will notify owners of affected vehicles by mail to take their vehicles to a dealership for an inspection, and possibly a centre console replacement.
