One of Patrick’s childhood friends was Mary Pigott, whose family lived around the corner from the Beattys in Rockcliffe Park, and who also had a family member in government: her grandmother, Jean Pigott, was also an MP. As high-school students at Ashbury College, Mary and Patrick would walk to school together, watch movies and hang out with friends.
