MONTREAL – Nuvei has signed a deal to buy U.S. financial services company Payoneer Global Inc. for US$2.75 billion.
Under the terms of the agreement, the Montreal-based payment technology firm will pay US$7.40 per share in cash for the company.
Payoneer helps companies pay and get paid across borders and manage funds across multiple currencies. Its shares closed at US$6.75 on the Nasdaq market on Friday.
The transaction is subject to approval by Payoneer’s shareholders, regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.
It is expected to close in mid-2027.
Nuvei was taken private in 2024 by U.S. private equity firm Advent International.
