On July 28, Gatineau police were called to Dollard-des-Ormeaux Street in Hull to investigate a possible shooting, said Const. Patrick Kenney.
Officers arrived at the scene j ust before 10:40 a.m., with an individual with “ injuries possibly caused by a firearm,” according to a press release from the Service de police de la Ville de Gatineau at around 1 p.m.
Kenney also said that the victim, who is now in hospital, was conscious when he was transported there.
The suspect has been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing, said the release.
As a perimeter has been set up around the area, police are asking the public to avoid the area during their investigation.
