Responders rescue woman from 20-foot fall down east end parkway cliff

Tactical paramedics and firefighters teamed up Wednesday morning to rescue an adult woman who took a serious 20-foot fall down a cliff on the Sir George Etienne Cartier Parkway at Lisgar Road near the Rockcliffe Lookout

Ottawa paramedics alerted fire services at about 1:45 a.m. that they had established “verbal contact with the patient” down the embankment.

Fire services rope rescue team set up at the scene and paramedics brought the patient to safety, paramedics reported Wednesday.

The victim was rescued at 2:31 a.m.

She experienced serviced serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
