The Vanitea Room in Centretown will serve its final tea service on Oct. 31.
“Every chapter has its season, and we feel fortunate to have shared this one with you,” the business said in its social media posts on Oct. 22.
The cosy tea salon on Somerset Street West just east of Bay Street opened in 2016, according to its website. It was known for an extravagant ambience, which included antique gilt mirrors, chandeliers and tufted velvet, and its bottomless mimosas.

The tea room’s owner, Hind Mubarak Brown, opened a second eatery called VIV Bistro on Preston Street in the spring of 2023. It closed in late 2025.
