A 22-year-old Ottawa man has been charged with possession and accessing child sexual abuse materials, police said in a news release Wednesday.
Police said the investigation began in May after a report of a person sharing “child sexual abuse and exploitation materials (CSAEM)” online.
On Tuesday, Ottawa police Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit executed a search warrant at a residence in Ottawa’s south end.
Mattias Chicoine, 22, was arrested and charged with possessing and accessing CSAEM.
He appeared in court yesterday. The investigation is ongoing.
