S&P/TSX composite down nearly 100 points as financial stocks fall, U.S. markets up

TORONTO – Canada’s main stock index was down nearly 100 points in late-morning trading, weighed down by losses in the financial sector, while U.S. stock markets traded higher.

The S&P/TSX composite index was down 95.09 points at 36,718.56.
