A 17-year-old Ottawa G1 driver is expected to face a half-dozen charges after their expensive sports car was pulled over on Highway 417 when an automated licence plate reader identified the driver as suspended.
The late-model Audi in a turquoise body wrap was pulled over at about 11 a.m. Wednesday in the eastbound lanes of the highway near Bronson Avenue.
Const. Michael Fathi of the Ontario Provincial Police Ottawa detachment said investigating officers found several alleged contraventions of G1 regulations, including being accompanied by a fully licensed driver with at least four years of driving experience.
The car was towed from the scene at the driver’s expense.
The youth was expected to appear in provincial court at a later date.
