A driver was charged with stunt driving on Highway 417 after reportedly carrying a passenger in the trunk with the tailgate open, provincial police said.
Police say it observed the passenger riding in the open tailgate on the Queensway shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Saturday night, with the individual filming two sports cars driving behind it.
“The driver had his licence suspended for 30-days and had his vehicle impounded for 14 days,” OPP said in a Tuesday social media post. “He now faces a minimum $2,000 fine, six demerit points and a one year driving prohibition upon conviction.”
Meanwhile, the passenger was also charged with “occupying a position in a vehicle that did not have a seatbelt,” and has been fined $240, police added.
Police did not disclose the ages of the driver or the passenger in the post.
