Ottawa police are on the hunt for a beachwear sporting suspect who made off on an e-scooter on Canada Day with an unspecified amount of alcohol.
Police said the suspect entered an unnamed business shortly after 10 a.m. on July 1 in the 900 block of Merivale Road “selected some products, and proceeded to walk out.”
Outside the business, police said the man assaulted staff who attempted to stop him and escaped with the products on an e-scooter.
The suspect is described as Caucasian in his mid-20s to early 30s, between five feet six inches and five feet 10 inches tall, with long brown hair in a ponytail and a dark beard.
At the time of the incident, the suspect was wearing a yellow button-up shirt (unbuttoned in the security cams), black shorts, reading glasses, white running shoes, a backpack and a cross-body bag.
