One firefighter suffered a minor injury on Wednesday as crews worked to contain a blaze in the 6000 block of Castle Pines Way.
Ottawa Fire Services took multiple 911 calls at about 4:46 p.m., with callers reporting that flames were visible through the roof of a single-family home and that the siding on a neighbouring home was melting.
After arriving at the scene in the Orléans-South-Navan ward, firefighters confirmed that flames were shooting through the roof and that other homes were possibly exposed, and a second alarm was immediately called.
It wasn’t until almost two hours after the initial calls had come in that the fire was declared under control at 6:42 p.m.
Two full searches of the home were completed and no occupants were found inside, fire services said in a news release.
A fire services investigator was sent to the scene to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
