A 73-year-old man faces charges related to child sexual abuse and exploitation materials offences after devices were seized from a south-end home, Ottawa police say.
The Ottawa Police Service ‘s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit searched the residence on June 4. The address was not released.
After devices seized at the scene were examined, Wilbert Reid Telfer was arrested and charged with possessing and accessing child sexual abuse and exploitation materials, police said.
Telfer appeared in court on June 4.
The investigation was ongoing as of June 5, pending the examination of a “significant number” of electronic devices that were seized at the scene, police said.
