A 57-year-old man was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday to face assault and other charges in connection with a stabbing on Rideau Street on Wednesday
The Ottawa Police Service said an unprovoked attack occurred just before 11 a.m. on June 3 in the 300 block of Rideau, where a suspect approached the unidentified victim and stabbed them, causing serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
In a news release, police said Mohamed Elhilo had been charged with one count each of assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon, possession of a dangerous weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.
