MONTREAL – National Bank of Canada has agreed to acquire B.C.-based Truvera Trust Corporation.
The financial terms for the deal were not disclosed, though National says it will not have a material impact on its financial position.
Truvera Trust Corporation has a headquarters in Vancouver and provides services in estate and trust planning.
National says the move is part of a strategy to strengthen its presence in Western Canada and expand its wealth management capabilities.
The acquisition is being made through National Bank’s subsidiary Natcan Trust Company.
The transaction is expected to close in the coming months and is subject to customary closing conditions.
