Hundreds of police and peace officers marched to Parliament Hill on Sunday, Sept. 27, for the 49th annual Canadian Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial service honouring those who died in the line of duty.
This year’s emotional ceremony added the names of five police officers and one correctional services officer to the memorial, and gave family members an opportunity to honour and remember their loved ones.
Ottawa Citizen photographer Ashley Fraser was also at Parliament Hill for the sombre service.
