Canadian restaurant franchisor Foodtastic has acquired the rights to Kinton Ramen.
The Montreal-based company, which owns 30 brands including PitaPit, Milestones and Second Cup, didn’t reveal what it paid for the acquisition.
Kinton Ramen has 58 restaurants in Canada and the U.S. that specialize in Japanese cuisine.
Foodtastic says it will work to expand the chain in Canada but won’t change its menu, brand identity, loyalty program or franchisee relationships.
Kinton Ramen was founded in Toronto in 2012 by entrepreneur James Kim.
The acquisition comes a month after Foodtastic announced it will bring café chain Dunkin’ back to Canada.
