On April 25, corporate leaders, philanthropists and community champions gathered at the Ritz-Carlton for the University of the West Indies (UWI) Toronto Benefit Awards. The celebration, featuring inspiring speeches and philanthropy, raised approximately $435,000 to provide scholarships and assistance to Caribbean students impacted by Hurricane Melissa. Nelson Mandela’s great-grandson Siyabulela Mandela was among the seven honourees recognized for their achievements.
