A Gatineau police officer has been charged with armed assault and bodily injury, the force announced Wednesday.
Stéphane Lizotte, 51, was arrested by MRC des Collines police July 5.
He was not on duty at the time of the alleged offences.
The officer was already under suspension with pay following charges brought against him in a separate investigation, police said in a release.
Lizotte appeared in court July 6 and was released on conditions pending a future appearance.
