A 13-year-old girl was arrested last week after she allegedly pulled out an imitation firearm and threatened other youths during an altercation in Oshawa.
Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) officers were called to the Bridle Road and Northern Dancer Drive area, near Northern Dancer Public School, just before 6 p.m. on April 23 for reports of an armed person.
Police said a female youth brandished a firearm with an extended magazine following an altercation with other youths. No injuries were reported. Police said the girl fled before officers arrived at the scene.
Police arrested the suspect a short time later and executed a search warrant at a residence, seizing a firearm that was confirmed to be an imitation Glock.
A 13-year-old female was charged with possess weapon dangerous. She was held for a bail hearing.
The girl was not identified by means of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
